A Book Made of Stories, People, and Purpose
Some books are planned months in advance.
Some take years to complete.
And then there are books that come together in a very short time, guided by trust, teamwork, and a quiet belief that everything will fall into place.
“The Golden Legacy of Jayashree Mohanty” is one such book.

This book is not just a memoir. It is a warm collection of voices, memories, emotions, and relationships. Through its pages, it tells the story of a woman who has beautifully balanced work and family, leadership and humility, strength and kindness. A woman who has lived many roles with grace, as a leader, a professional, a Rotarian, a daughter, a wife, and a mother.
Being part of this book was special for me. It allowed me to see two worlds at once, what readers see inside the pages, and what happens quietly behind the scenes to bring those pages to life.
This book is written through the voices of people who have closely known Jayashree Ma’am over the years, colleagues, associates, friends, and family members. Each chapter adds a new colour and layer to her journey.

The book speaks about:
What makes the book special is its simplicity. The words are honest, warm, and real. There is no exaggeration or artificial praise, only experiences lived and shared from the heart.
Among all the chapters, the ones written by her family form the emotional core of the book and touched me the most. They show the person behind the professional role, the daughter, the mother, and the partner.

This chapter is deeply emotional. A father shares one of the most unforgettable moments of his life, the birth of his daughter on New Year’s Eve, inside a moving ambulance. It was a moment full of fear, prayer, and hope.
From that day, he remembers her as a joyful child, a disciplined student, and a girl who grew up with strong values. His words are filled with pride, not just for her success, but for the person she became.
He writes about her studies, her curiosity to learn, and the confidence she gained with every step. As a father, he feels content knowing she built a loving family and a meaningful professional life. His words reflect deep satisfaction and happiness.

Written from a son’s heart, this chapter is deeply touching. It reflects an honest and heartfelt note from a son to his mother. He shares how, despite her many responsibilities, Jayashree Ma’am was always there for him, listening, guiding, and giving time when it mattered the most. He never felt ignored or left alone.
What he admires most is how real she is. She works hard, leads people, and still remains kind and patient at home. Through everyday conversations, she taught him how to think, make decisions, and stand by his choices. This chapter shows the pride of a son who truly understands the effort behind his mother’s journey.

Written with warmth and light humour, this chapter shows what it is like to share life with someone strong, caring, and full of energy. He talks about her ability to manage work, people, and family all at once, without losing her emotional side.
He shares how their differences became their strength, how trust and support helped them grow together, and how she stood firm during difficult times. Beyond roles and responsibilities, he sees her as a partner who motivates, supports, and holds everything together. His words reflect love, respect, and gratitude built over years of shared life.
Together, these three chapters show her life from the closest angles, as a daughter deeply loved, a mother deeply respected, and a partner deeply valued.
This is the part most readers will never see, the silent heroes at work.
Due to Christmas holidays and limited office discussions, serious work on the book began around 29th December 2025. Until then, Haris Sir and Nilambar Sir were already working on the cover design and layout planning.
On 30th December, the back cover was finalised. Content from various contributors and photographs started coming into our WhatsApp group, and from that moment, everything moved quickly. Devamitra Mam shared all the relevant pictures.
That evening, I went to Haris Sir and offered help wherever required. I shared how, during my M.Tech thesis, I had organised and compiled content with help from my siblings. He explained that InDesign is very different from MS Word and requires practice and patience.
Initially, he hesitated, but since the book was over 80 pages and he was travelling on 31st December, he agreed. He gave me a quick 7–10 minute demo on how to place content in InDesign. I practiced one page in front of him, clarified my doubts, and started helping.
Later that evening, we discussed the progress with Jayashree Ma’am. There was still a lot to do. Haris Sir mentioned that he would be travelling to his village on 31st December, and it was also his birthday on New Year’s Day.
Jayashree Ma’am gently said that had she known earlier, she would have assigned the work outside, as she respected both his family time and the importance of his birthday.
Despite tiredness and personal commitments, everyone stayed focused. We worked till late into the night. Haris Sir, Nilambar Sir, and I worked until almost 11 PM, while Jayashree Ma’am left around 10:20 PM. Shops were closed, food was limited, and dry fruits became our quick meal. Those small moments remain close to the heart.
Swain Bhai, Jayashree Ma’am’s driver, dropped me home. Even then, I kept checking the content for errors and coordinating with Jayashree Ma’am and Haris Sir. Work continued late into the night until 2 AM; mistakes were identified, and we decided that everything had to be completed that very night.
On 31st December, more content and images came in and were added. I honestly told Nilambar Sir that I did not fully know InDesign. I had only worked on a few pages. Still, Haris Sir guided us remotely while travelling, using UltraViewer.
Lunch was missed. Energy was low. But determination kept us going. Once the book was ready, Nilambar Sir left for printing. I stayed back to design the contents page, tired and unsure, I continued working while eating fruits with my left hand.
By 4 pm, my part was done, and printing was handled by Nilambar Sir. By 6 pm, I finally left for home. Exhausted, I remember thinking, “God, everything happened so suddenly, in complete chaos. Please take care of the rest and make everything okay.”
And somehow, everything worked out.
On 1st January, we came to the office. Biryani was arranged for everyone. In the evening, Jayashree Ma’am’s birthday was celebrated with a red velvet cake.

She looked elegant, confident, and graceful, a grace that only grows with time. She thanked the team, appreciated the effort put into completing the book in such a short time, and encouraged everyone to give their 100% and work diligently to make clients happy.
After the cake cutting, she also mentioned that it was Haris Sir’s birthday and expressed her gratitude. She spoke light-heartedly about different stages of life, health, and how life is precious, encouraging everyone to enjoy every phase and not stress too much.

Later that evening, we attended the book launch at the Golf Club, Bhubaneswar. The event was joyful and warm, with guests of all ages. The conversations, food, and atmosphere made it truly memorable.
One line from Jayashree Ma’am touched my heart deeply. She spoke about unspoken words, loss, and how every moment of life is precious. She shared how, after losing her father and elder brother, she realised there were many things she wanted to say but could not. They left this world, and her message remained with her, so why not live fully, say what we feel for others, and celebrate this beautiful life? Her message was simple yet powerful: live fully, express love, and value every moment.
The evening ended with dinner, music, and a sense of quiet happiness. It was an unplanned yet beautiful New Year, 2026, for me.
On 2nd January, when Haris Sir returned to the office, even he wondered how everything was managed so smoothly despite all the challenges. Honestly, I don’t have a clear answer.
Sometimes, things just fall into place when people work with sincerity, trust each other, and leave the rest to God.
For me, this book was more than work. It was learning, teamwork, emotion, and a reminder that even under pressure, something meaningful can be created.
The Golden Legacy of Jayashree Mohanty is not just a book you read once and keep aside. It is a book you return to, for inspiration, learning, and perspective.

It teaches us that leadership does not need noise, family is not separate from success, and teamwork can make even the tightest deadlines possible.
I am grateful to have been part of this journey, both inside the pages and behind them. And above all, I thank God, because the unseen effort, silent guidance, and sincere work done with faith is also a form of worship. Without His grace, this journey would not have been possible.
This blog reflects my personal experience and observations while being part of The Golden Legacy of Jayashree Mohanty project. Every individual associated with the book may hold a different perspective based on their role and journey, and all such perspectives are equally valuable.
This book is the result of collective effort, trust, and dedication. I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of all authors, family members, colleagues, designers, coordinators, and team members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this book to life. Each contribution, visible and invisible, played a meaningful role in shaping this journey.
