Introduction

Prison Management Information System is an end-to-end automation system which manages all activities in a jail. Integrated with biometric & HRMIS systems, the module looks after all actions at different stages including admission of prisoner, welfare of prisoners, discharge of prisoners etc. The application has many key features like automated sentence calculation, court attendance, appeal and sentence integration, biometric integration in admission, gate pass, property and discharge process. The system has provision for automatic lockup management, auto occurrence book management and automatic transfer and lodger management. The application has also provision for escape and recaptures management, station wise and prisoner wise property management. The system can manage the release on bail and re-admit processes. The scope of this project is to computerize and integrate all activities related to prison and prisoner management in the jail. This application suite will provide the vital information about the inmates, lodged in the prisons, in real time environment to the prison officials and other entities, involved in criminal justice system.
